Kopper Kids Daycare

The Family and Consumer Science Department believes there is a critical need to prepare high school students with adequate knowledge and skills regarding appropriate child care techniques for the home and work place. Therefore, a full-time, on-site child care facility is operated in conjunction with the Child Development Programs.
Our curriculum will be planned in compliance with "Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs Serving From Birth Through Age 8" by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).


Hours of Operation- We will operate in conjunction with the traditional high school calendar. When we don't have students, the day care will be closed. We rely on student teachers to maintain the child/teacher ratios. We are open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuition and Fees- The following prices will be charged as follows: (based on 5 days per week, 8 hours per day)

$50 non-refundable registration processing fee per family

Infants (6 weeks to 23 months) $550.00/month

Toddlers (2-3 Years) $450.00/month

Preschoolers (4-5 Years) $450.00/month (also includes one session of preschool if you are full-time)

Nutrition: We will serve breakfast and lunch and 2 snacks on a daily basis.
Rest Periods: Rest periods take place at 1:00 and go to about 3:00. We ask that all children at least rest during those times. A cot will be supplied for each child. You will need to bring a blanket to leave at the day care.

If you are interested in the day care, you will need to call and put your name on the waiting list. After calling to be added to the list you may complete the registration form and mail it to the Kopper Kids Daycare, but it does not guarantee your child will be enrolled. We can only take a total of 20 children in our day care. We do not offer drop-in care. You need to sign up for the entire year and on a monthly basis. We also ask that you have your child in our day care for at least 3 days per week or more. Nothing less will be offered.
